Lunch Menu

The lunch hour at Marlborough Primary School is a time for children to come together whether eating a healthy school meal or packed lunch.  School meals are cooked from fresh daily on site in Marlborough's state of the art kitchen.  All school meals meet the Government standards and are nutritionally evaluated to ensure children are provided with a balanced diet.

The hot meals menu is changed termly and shared within school.  It is displayed in the dining area, in each classroom and accessible to parents, carers and visitors via the school office.  Meat (Halal and Non-Halal) as well as vegetarian options are available every day.

All children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are entitled to a free school meal.  Children in Years 3 to 6 requiring a school meal may pay using Parent Pay.  If you think that your child is eligible for free school meals, please apply online HERE

Packed lunches may also be bought to school, however we ask that these are healthy.  Crisps, fizzy drinks and chocolate are not allowed.  Packed lunches must be a in container or bag (no glass) with your child's name clearly labelled.

 

Free School Meals

If your child is aged between 5 and 18 and attends a Harrow school, they may be entitled to free school melas regardless of whether they receive universal free meals.

 

By applying for free school meals, your child's school could also benefit from up to £1320 additional funding to support their learning.

 

We are asking all parents to check whether they are eligible or not.

 

Who is entitled?

Your child may be entitled to free school meals if you receive one of the following income related benefits or support payments:

 

  • Income support
  • Income based Job Seekers Allowance
  • Income based Employement and Support Allowance
  • Support from NASS (National Asylum Support Service) under part 6 of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
  • Pension Credit Guarantee Credit
  • Child Tax Credit - If your income is below £16,190
  • Working Tax Credit run-on (Which is paid for 4 weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit)
  • Universal Credit

 

Working Tax Credit

If you are receiving Working Tax Credit your child will not be entitled to free school meals.
